According to the report Investment attractiveness of regions in Poland in 2009 prepared by the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics, the Łódź area ranks first in the category of attractiveness for the services sector, second for advanced technologies and third for industry.
Due to the region's location, sources and traditions Łódź is a very suitable location for the development of the following industries: energetic, textile and mechatronics. The region has good conditions to become a competitive investment destination in European and world context because the region hosts a number of companies from the mechatronic sector - there is a mechatronic cluster which was created in co-operation with the local Marshal Office.
Also the University of Łódź decided to support the trend and has been opening a new faculty - Production and IT where students will learn how to manage production processes, create mini robots and automate production.
The fact that the region, and especially the Skierniewice, Rawa, Łowicz Kutno and Łęczyca districts provide high quality fruit and vegetables, make the region a perfect location for investors interested in food processing. (Łódź Investor Assistance Centre, PAIiIZ
